There is no
one who deserves the Lagos Man of the Year 2018 Award better than Dr.
AbdulHakeem Mobolaji Akanmu AbdulLateef.
Dr. AbdulHakeem Mobolaji
Akanmu AbdulLateef was
born on the 21st August 1967 to the royal Awori family of Ejigbo, in
Oshodi-Isolo Council Area of Lagos State. An alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School
of Government, Boston, United States of America. He is presently the Honourable Commissioner
for Home Affairs, Lagos State.
Dr. AbdulHakeem Mobolaji
Akanmu AbdulLateef earns his popularity not on showmanship but based on hardworking
and his sincerity towards delivery of responsibilities entrusted to him. To
list out few of his resent activities that justifies this claim;
Under his leadership as Amir-Hajj, N30Million was
refunded to those who perform the 2017 Saudi Arabia Pilgrims through Lagos
State. An achievement that has never being recorded in the past. The refund of
money is for some services that were not rendered which he agitated for and it
was granted.
Still on Hajj, The Honourable Commissioner for Home
Affairs, Lagos State was still preferred by the Muslims in Lagos to act as
Amirul-Hajj of the 2018 Pilgrims to Mecca. This time around, he delivered his
responsibilities beyond expectation in which the first batch of Lagos Pilgrims
to Mecca returned to the country in 28 days, the first time in history. Not
Only that, the State emerged first position in pilgrims management across the
federation as announced by the National Hajj Commission.
These are 2 among of his achievements well known to me
among the numerous well known to the public.
Dr. AbdulHakeem Mobolaji

On his personal website, he concluded his reflection
about life with the follow worth emulating.
- Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
- Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
- Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.
- Remember, to say, ‘I love you’ to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. An embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
- Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
- Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
