KIU is a non-profit university founded on the belief of spreading the knowledge and promoting the value of teaching. Conceived and implemented in the fall of 2007, Knowledge International University was as a platform for providing accurate and balanced knowledge to the widest possible audience via the internet.

Providing English speaking students the opportunity to study a degree in Islamic studies entirely online with main goal of bring higher education to people who are unable to enroll in Studies programs at conventional universities.


In order to achieve this noble goal, KIU has gathered an international array of leading scholars of high repute to supervise and deliver academically sound curricula in the various traditional disciplines of learning.

KIU is an integrated educational institution which relies mainly on electronic and distance learning to provide higher education in disciplines using the most advanced learning methodologies for all knowledge seekers beyond time and place restrictions.

To develop innovative educational programs that fulfills the needs of the various sectors of the world community.
To disseminate the correct knowledge, works and experiences of major scholars from around Muslim the world.




Option to Study an Individual course
The Online Degree in Islamic Studies comprises many well structured course modules which in their own right provide great value and benefit. There are several attractive courses on offer taught by leading educators and scholars. These modules may be studied separately from the degree programme. This is a great option for individuals who do not have the time to take on a full time degree but would like to study specific subjects.


Each course module is made of:
26 recorded lecture videos with multiple choice questions after each video
6 Live sessions with the Lecturer allowing the student to directly interact with the lecturer
The set course material in English
Set assignments to assist in developing and applying the material that has been taught
Discussion forum - participation with the Lecturer and fellow students
Final Exam

Upon successful completion of a course module, the student is credited with 3 credit hours (a full semester is made up of 15-20 credit hours).

On a 50% scholarship such a course module will cost the student a fee as low as $105 USD.

KIU Fees
Current Rates
Application fees $50 USD
Full time students (13-21 credit hours per semester ): $975 USD  per semester
Study one course module: $225 USD. module will run during term time.

Scholarship Entitlement
KIU understands that the fees may be difficult for some students. As such, these students are encouraged to apply for the 50% scholarship thereby entitling the student to study the entire semester for half the stated price.

Furthermore those students who are in hardship and cannot afford to pay for their tuition are encouraged to apply for a full scholarship. Please note a background check and references may be required.

Admissions Deadline

KIU will receive new applications at the beginning of each semester according to the following schedule:
