Agitating for Sallah Holiday: AOCOED Students’ Boycott Examination

Aocoed
The 2018/2019 Second Semester Examination of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education had earlier being set to begin on Monday, 20th August, 2018, but early this morning, it was to the dismay of The management to see student agitating for postponing the commencement till Monday, 27th, August, 2018

It was garthered that the Management before fixing the date had a meeting with The Student Union Government (SUG) Executives. But the SUG Executives does not have a proper consultation with students on the commencement date. But ever since the date was fixed, the students had showed their disapproval, in which there seems to be no way out until this morning,

Some students who deem it fit blocked the school gate and chase their colleagues coming to the school with intention of writing exam. The lecturers are reluctantly allowed to enter into the college without cars just to ensure that no exam holds. The students decided to take the alternative action since every attempt to make The School Management postponed the exam falls on their deaf ear. Without doubt their action will deprive the Muslim Students from traveling for 2018(1439AH) Edil Adha holiday.

After series of agitation, The Management issued a decision extract signed by the Registrar, S. A. O Muhideen Esq. that partly reads: “this is to inform all students that second semester examination for 2017/2018 academic session has been postponed indefinitely”. On hearing this entire students commence the holiday celebration on spot while those who intend to travel go ahead from the spot.
