It
was mindblowing and impactful days as testified by participants at the just
concluded 3 days Dawah Advancement Programme (DAP) for Nasfat Youth Wing Head
of Dawah (HODs) on Shariah Intelligence.
The
Train-the-Trainers Course (TTC) on clarifying the misconceptions about women in
Islam was held between 3rd - 5th of August, 2018 (21st - 23rd of
Dhul Qadah, 1439 A.H) at NASFAT Mosque, Coca cola, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State,
Nigeria facilitated by Malam Ibrahim Bello and Sheikh Junaid Yunus, members of
Islamic Education Trust (IET) Minna.
Other
facilitators are Sheikh Mahruf AbdulAzeez Onike (Chief Missioner, Nasfat Worldwide)
and Ustaz Saheed Adekunle (Memebr, Nasfat Headquarter Mission Board).
One
of the major discussions was centred on Shariah Intelligence (the basic
principles and objectives of Islamic Jurisprudence) which is an introduction to
USULUL FIQHI and MOQOSID SHARIAH. It was clarified that misunderstandings about
Islam are not just among non-Muslims communities but also within the Muslim
Ummah. One of the greatest challenges to gaining a better understanding of
Islam is the lack of understanding about fundamental inductive of Shariah and
the tools of juristic reasoning of Ijtihad.
Many
young Muslims are not connected to competent traditional trained local
scholars, and many of these scholars do not or cannot join the online discussion
of the "Cyber Ummah". As a result, searches on "Sheikh
Google" and "Mufti YouTube" quickly issue answers on behalf of
Islam, including answers developed by Islamophobes, with no concern for the
context of the questioners or persons concerned, the answers that are learned
by Muslims and non-Muslims using these means have resulted in disturbing
misunderstanding and gross distortions of Islam teachings, values and
principles.
According
to one of the participants; Ustaz Saleem AbdulWahab (Albayany) a member of
Waleemah team;
“I can't appreciate Allah enough for giving the
opportunity to take part in this just concluded Dawah Programme, I believe anyone
that has today to be the same with yesterday is a loser, without doubt today is
better than my yesterday because I have gained a lot in the Programme. Also
appreciate the brain behind my sponsorship to the Programme Nasfat Youth wing,
Shibiri Ekunpa Branch, Ojo Lagos, Jazakumullahu khairan.”
Malam
Ibrahim Bello and Sheikh Junaid Yunus took the participants on
"Misconceptions about women in Islam" base on Sheriah Intelligence.
While
Sheikh Mahruf AbdulAzeez Onike, The Chief Missioner handled "New concept
and frontiers in Dawah work". Ustaz Saheed Adekunle handled interactive
session and group Presentation.
