It is true that those who never experience sadness can
never teach someone about happiness. Aisha Adams never failed to share some of
her numerous challenges on her social media page that catapult her to the
position she is today. It was those same challenges that gave birth to the
inspiration of sharing her experience with the world that lead to her first
book “The White Elephant” and other impactful and life transforming projects in
which “Siddiqah” is one. She has touches thousands of life positively through
her personal counseling, Seminars/Workshops and most especially Siddiqah Street
Kitchen which offers monthly feeding and empowerment training to the less priviledged
in different location in Nigeria.
This time around, as a Public Health Practitioner, Aisha
Adams is ready to educate Nigerian on how to handle their stress level which if
not managed can lead to mental illness.
She believes Mental Health
issues have increased incidence in our communities and while she is preparing
for a talk recently, she came across statistics showing that relationship
trauma was the 3rd leading cause of Depression and Anxiety attacks. Her
conclusion “Traumatic relationship issues are one of the leading causes of
Mental Health Issues”
She advised the best way to treat someone with mental illness just
like any other ailment to encourage her quick recovery is to show our empathy.
Above all, the economic ambiance in Nigeria today is at the
negative side leading to depression and suicide attempts across different age
groups. From professional viewpoint, she says. The best solution is to relax
and de-stress.
