MPAC, an
incorporated public service agency working for Muslim Defence, Muslim
Empowerment and for promoting individual liberties, religious, civil and
political rights of Muslims is encouraging Muslims and general public with lots of graphic on their social media to exercise their civic right to vote which start with registration for the Permanent
Voters Card (PVC).
The organization
further encourages that the only way we can individually participate in fighting
corruption in Nigeria is to vote.
“"Corruption:
if YOU cannot fix it, VOTE it out!". It's your duty to ensure your voice
is heard!”
“We can't keep
clamouring for our rights if we don't participate in decision making. It's your
duty to ensure your voice is heard. It's your civic and religious duty, so let
your vote count!”
"If you
are not at the table, you are on the menu. Gender is no limitation! It's your
duty to ensure your voice is heard, it's your civic right!”
It is formerly
a general notion that the righteous ones should stay away from politics;
excluding themselves in running the community and national affairs just because
politics was wrongly tagged “a dirty game” wish is an attempts to scared people
away.
This notion has
being changing as Scholars has being encouraging Muslims never to see
participating in politics as haram. Convincingly, what makes Islam what it is
today is because Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is a good leader.
We can’t be in
the crowd to create rules and regulations and enabling environment that will be
conducive for the populace. The only way is to be among those who make the
decision. Participating in politics either as voter or aspirant is our civic
right, let’s exercise it.
